Material that is extremely flexible, soft, lightweight, fibrous or sticky such as some brush, bamboo, palm fronds, cactus, and vines may be difficult to feed down the chipper hopper and may not adequately chip or discharge.
Bamboo or palm fronds that are dry may chip differently than if they are green. We don’t have any specific performance data on this. Stringy, fibrous material could wrap up on the flywheel shaft or clog the discharge chute.
However, the Chipper/Shredders have two hoppers, one for chipping limbs with a chipping knife and the other for pulverizing material with free-swinging shredding hammers that will be able to handle material like bamboo.
