If you want the ability to knock out 2-1/2" thick saplings, plus the toughest grass and weeds, this machine is for you. Go anywhere with 4 forward speeds (1 reverse) and lockable differential. 26" cut.
How does the mower avoid hidden rocks and stumps and what happens if you hit one?
What happens if you hit a hidden stump or rock?
The Self Propelled, Walk Behind Field and Brush Mower has a pivoting mower deck that automatically follows the contour of the ground and has a fixed 4 inch cutting height.
Hitting a rock or stump can potentially damage the blade or blade spindle, so it's best to avoid rocky situations whenever possible. However, the DR is equipped with a belt-drive system that allows the belt to slip if it strikes a rock or immovable object, reducing the possibility of damage to the blade spindle and protecting the engine.
For areas that may have numerous stumps and rocks, there is an optional attachment called the Bladeless Mowing Attachment. It is used for mowing lighter grass and weed covered areas on your property where you wouldn't want to take any steel bladed mower. It uses extra heavy duty nylon cutting cord.

I understand that this be3ast will reclaim my fallow pastures, but how well does it cut regular pasture and lawn grass?
The 20 HP Tow-Behind Field and Brush Mower can be used on country properties of all sizes. It's ideal for clearing meadows and wide open areas with grass up to 6 ft tall, weeds and brush up to 8 ft high and saplings up to 2" thick.
With a pressurized oil delivery with a spin on filter, it can mow well on slopes up to 15 to 20 degrees as long as your tow vehicle is on the same slope as you are mowing.
The mower offers a foot-activated cutting height system that can be set at 4", 5", 6-14" or 7-1/2". You can choose the height that best fits your mowing conditions. If the blades are kept sharp, you can mow your yard with the mower, however, it will not leave a manicured cut as a finish mower will leave.
The mower is equipped with Pro-Tek swinging blades that pivot when they happen to hit an immovable object. This absorbs any shock without transferring the force to the rest of the machine.

Thicker and heavier than the Multi-Purpose brush blade that is shipped standard on all DR Field and Brush Mowers. Extra weight and mass creates greater momentum as the blade spins, which makes it easier and faster to cut tough, woody material.
Is it possible to get decals for an old Bachtold model mower?
Also, can you give an idea of year model by the S/N? I plan to restore this beast, and want to do it right. Thank you!

Does the blade have clutch

The DR 22" Self Propelled Lawn Mower does not feature a blade brake clutch. Unless you have a debris crowded yard, it is not always advantageous to have this system. As with any clutch system, the complexity of the mower can become an issue as well as an increase in maintenance costs.

The Kubota BX1850 is a Category 1 Hitch Tractor. For the tractor to be compatible with the 3-Point Hitch Fenceline Trimmer, other tractor requirements are:
- Must have a 540 rpm PTO setting
- Maximum horsepower of 45, NO minimum HP required
- Maximum wheelbase of 80" to outside of tires
- Must be a standard 6 spline PTO hookup - no Quick Connect units

I have an older Kubota 185. It has a cat 1 3 speed pto. I use it with a 4' brush hog. Weill the trimmer mower work with it?
The new 3-Point Hitch Fence Line Trimmer is designed for use with a category 1 tractor with a 540 rpm PTO, with a maximum HP of 45 and NO minimum HP is required. The maximum width of the rear wheels ( from outside of tires ) is 80 inches.
