There are many different style's and designs of lawn mower's. Here is a list of question's that we use to help you make sure the DR Leaf and Lawn Vacuum will work for you. If you have any question's, please give us a call at 1-800-376-9637 and a sale's rep will assist you.
Lawn Tractor Questions (all Models)
Q: What is the make & horsepower of your lawn tractor? Is it a standard drive or Zero Turn?
A: 12hp with Premier on flat terrain, 14hp or greater for all other models and terrain conditions.
Q: What is the cutting width of your lawn mower? Is it a belly mount or front mount deck?
A: For front mounted lawn mowers - 54” or greater customer will need to take a smaller swath.
For belly mounted mowers - 60” or greater customer will need to take a smaller swath due to the amount of discharged materials.
Deck Adapter & Extra Hose and Brace Kit
Q: Do you currently have a bagging or collection system for your lawn mower?
A: If yes, Is the discharge opening on your current deck adapter between 6”–8” in
diameter? If yes, the LLV will hook up easily with the deck adapters we send.
If no, ask the next question
Q: Is the discharge opening on your lawn mower less than 6” high and 19” wide?
A: If yes, the customer can use our Universal Deck Adapter (28399) in order to make the connection between their lawn tractor and our hose system.
Important information: The customer will need to make some modifications to their Deck Adapter; it requires about 2 hours, a jig saw, a drill, and experience and comfort using both in order to make the modification.
If they are not comfortable making those modifications themselves, they’ll need to find someone who would be willing to help them.
Q: What is the distance from the back opening of the discharge on the lawn mower to the back of the furthest point on the back of the tractor? Do cusotmer want to use standard hitch or Dual Point Hitch kit?
A: 40 inches or less – the standard amount of inlet hose will fit
40 inches to 7 ft – The customer needs the Extra Hose & Brace Kit (28400)
If customer will be using the Dual Point Hitch Accessory and distance is 56” or less, no extra hose needed
Greater than 7 ft – The customer’s tractor is too large for the LLV
Hitch Plate
Q: Do you have a pin hitch on the back of your tractor between 5” and 20” from the ground?
A: If the customer either doesn’t have a pin hitch or their pin hitch doesn’t fall within this range,
they’ll need a hitch plate.
IF THE CUSTOMER NEEDS A HITCH PLATE ASK THE NEXT TWO QUESTIONS – OTHER WISE SKIP TO THE LAST QUESTION
If purchasing the Dual Point Hitch Accessory – you MUST ask the next two questions!!
Q: Is there a secure place on the back of your tractor to mount a hitch plate?
A: If yes, ask the next question, if no, there is no way to mount the LLV to their tractor.
Q: What is the distance between the rear wheels of your tractor?
A: 17” or Greater – uses the standard hitch plate
14” – 17” – uses the Narrow Hitch Plate
Angled back panel greater than 14” – uses Angled Hitch Plate
Less than 14” – we have no way to get an LLV mounted to the customer’s lawn tracto
