can the discharge shute be attached to this model?
Unfortunately, the DR 14.5 fpt Pro Chipper/Shredder is not a top discharge machine. The extended chute is only compatible with top discarge machines.

Would you choose a chipper or a chipper/shredder to easily despose of yard waste hassle free?
I currently own a 2 1/2" chipper/ shredder and it is a horrible hassle. I have to cut every branch down feed it half way through open then put the rest of the branch into the other section of the shredder/ chipper. I want mulch to put around trees, but I do not care how finely it is chopped. Can a chipper work effectively on small brush, berry trimmings, and other small debris or do I need a shredder for these tasks?
Our chippers are intended for rigid woody branches. It is best if the small flexible side twigs are removed. If they are not, the material that is not chipped will be sucked through the mechanism.Our chippers are not intended for flexible or green material. Those would require a shredder.

any tips on how to cut cord that comes in a roll
Heavy wire cutters or a fencing tool will work well. You should cut to a length of 23 inches.

ergonomichandled fork sturdy for hard work?
i am lossing hard dirt around burned, dead joshua tree stumps and nasty yucca spines. My local store model fork lasted pretty well but it was not a heavy duty model.it snapped. I expected this.
Instead of purchasing another one, would this one work?

This fork has high carbon steel tines. I have no way to know the composition of your previous fork. While every tool has it's limits, I expect that this fork will handle the tasks you've described honorably and will be more durable too.

The tines are made of high carbon steel. They are very strong and durable. The fork should have no problem meeting the chores you described.

Heavier rounds will require two people. The lifting limit for any particular pair will be specific to their capabilities. We discourage trying to lift more than your capabilities.
